How to Make Wind Power - Read This & Find Out

You can make wind power by building a wind generator. A wind generator has four distinct parts, the body, the hub and blades, the tail and the tower. It is also known as a windmill or a wind turbine. You can build the wind generator by following the steps below.

1) You should first make the wind generator's blade and hub through easily obtainable materials.

2) The motor should be obtained by buying or ordering it. It is the most important part of the wind generator as it converts the wind power into electrical energy.

3) Than you have to make the body of the wind generator through recycled materials like stainless steel chimney pipes of double wall. The stainless steel protects the internal moving parts and the motors well. You can get these pipes easily from woodstove dealers or chimney installers.

4) Than you have to make the tail of the generator. You can design and shape the tail with any colour and theme.

5) After that comes the part of the wind generator tower. You can either build the wind generator tower, or buy a readymade one, or get a free tower. The towers come in various sizes and shapes, from lattice work towers to huge metal towers of windfarms. You can get a free tower from various homes that are replacing their old TV towers by satellite TV. To have a strong flow of wind, the tower should be 15 feet higher than any obstruction located within 300 feet.

6) After you have built the wind generator, a bank of batteries is needed. You should also have a way for controlling the charging process of your batteries. To have frequent access to the batteries and monitor their charging, you have to place on the wall a small meter.

Thus you will be able to easily tell if there are any problems in the battery's charging. Also design a box for the batteries so that they do not get affected by temperature changes. Than you can take a wire of large diameter and connect the wind generator and the battery bank and an inverter can be hooked up for running your home's AC power outlets.
